Since Manchester Velodrome seems to be fully booked 365 days a year the York Velodrome will be greatly received by the cycling community! Hopefully it’s a step in the right direction in seeing more of these out door velodromes being created!
“York Sport Velodrome will be a 250m outdoor track based at York Sport Village. The velodrome will be a community and regional facility jointly funded by the University of York and British Cycling.
The Olympic length tarmac track will be banked, and each end will have 30 degrees banking at its steepest point. Indoor tracks like Manchester, Glasgow, Newport and London are made of timber and around 40 degrees at the steepest point.”
