It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but regardless, in my opinion, it’s one of the most rewarding aspects of cycling. Whether you climb to the top fast or simply do it at your own pace, getting to the top of the hill without stopping is always hugely rewarding even if it’s a hill you’re familiar with.
This film popped up on my Facebook feed last week, a teaser for a short film called Up, Up, Up from Thom Heald documenting Rob Borek from Bristol South CC.
From what I’ve seen, Rob’s had a great stab at the hill climbing season, competing in quite a few events and doing pretty well.
I’ve never done a ‘Hill Climb competition’ before but I can only imagine the competitive adrenalin adds to the usual expectation of ultimate pain and anxiety of wanting to get to the summit as quick as physically possible.
The 15 second teaser gives enough away to realise this film will capture the beauty of hill climbing through beautiful videography.
